I think that in the end, a degree is a degree. You will be able to get a job doing what you love no matter where you study. What you do want to make sure of is that you really like the school you attend. Sometimes, the best school for someone else isn’t going to be the best school for you. You need to make sure you are happy with your decision.
Personally, I had a difficult time finding a school with a neuropsychology program, which is why I created my site, neuropsychologyprograms.com. I love studying autism and other neurological disorders, and I am completely happy with my choice of school. It doesn’t matter what everyone else thinks as long as you are happy.
Yeah but it’s all subjective. If you get a good feel for the program that doesn’t mean it’s a good program for you. In the end it’s only four years so if you do make a “mistake” it’s not major. The way I see it, is if a person is accepted by many programs then they have the option. However if all they get accepted is to one program and its a program they didn’t vibe with it’s still the only program they were accepted to. So they end up going there and just deal with it. It is what it is and you get out of it what you put in.
At the end of the day what I’m looking at is what the cost of the program is and the cost of living for the area. The comfort of my wife and kid and their safety are more important than how happy I might perceive a program will make me. As in I’ll take the suburb/rural area of VCOM over the urban jungle of Touro COM.
