Joe you hit it right on the nail! I have always loved Mayo since my first research experience there and always thought that if accepted would end up there and then of course I have my family which is the most important consideration…we will see what happens. Hopefully we will know soon just in case we have to sell our home and pack up and go.
I have to agree with Joe- In talking with you, it is obvious your professional heart is with Mayo. However, of course your family takes priority. I will keep my fingers crossed that something works out for your husband. Then you can follow your heart to Mayo… 
Of, course as you know, I am biased being a PNP at Mayo and an aspiring MS1 2006. I truly feel Mayo has a great medical school. I teach medical students and peds residents and they are a happy bunch.
