It records lectures as u write. Then when reviewing ur notes, tap on your notebook and the audio recording of that note will play 
I actually tried one of these, but found, for me anyway, that I never really had time to go back and listen to the lectures. I actually have it for sale on another site, 4GB Pulse model. No takers yet. It is very cool technology, but I think it depends on your school study style.
