Hello all,
I am 37 years old and about to head back to college. My ultimate goal is to get into Med School and I am trying to decide on the best course of study.
A little background on myself. I was in the Navy for 6 years where I went through the nuclear power program and ultimately specialized as an engineering laboratory technician. I have taken courses in water chemistry, radiological studies, heat transfer and fluid flow, and many more through the navy. I also have a background in the food service industry having managed full service restaurants for many years. Currently I am in the sales industry working for Navistar Inc. ( I sale 18 wheelers)
My question is what is the best course of study, if there is such a thing, to help me prepare for medical school.

Welcome to OPM! I’d suggest that any degree will be fine (there are even English majors who have gone to med school), but just make sure you include enough classes to prep for the MCAT. Here’s the official word from the AAMC…
