I’m not in medical school yet but I do have a question. Are there any DO’s that have passed through OPM that have done a surgical residency? Specifically in Otorhinolaryngology or Orthopaedics? I know that I am seriously projecting and that decisions on specialty are years away, but I am interested in ENT as well as Microvascular Surgery.
General surgery and anesthesia as a DO are quite common. Subspecialty residencies are rarer- ENT, plastics, orthopedics, ophthalmology and the like are almost exclusively US MD graduates from the top of their class. (Almost!)
