Probably like a lot of you, I’m trying to figure out how to get clinical experience right now given the pandemic.
I have been volunteering for a local sexual assault hotline as a hotline advocate. Basically we staff a hotline and get calls from sexual assault survivors and their families. We typically give out resources and provide in the moment emotional support to them. We also sometimes go to meet the survivor at the local hospital if they need a SANE exam.
I heard Dr. Gray recently mention that Crisis Text Line volunteering could count as clinical experience…so would a sexual assault hotline count as well or would this be non-clinical volunteering?
