Today at 5pm eastern is supposedly the date AAMC is releasing the January MCAT scores. Some people on SDN think they won’t release them until Friday, which would just be cruel. The anticipation is making it difficult to concentrate in classes. Either way there will probably be some booze involved tonite .
They’re out. I already checked mine. Got a 27 and considering if I should retake in April or June. I’m definitely going to revel in some booze but not too much cause I still have to work tommorrow
34 here. Got a M on the writing though but who cares about that.
Congrats all for surviving the MCAT.
Nelg - A retake wouldn’t hurt (it also depends on your target school, ECs and GPA).
OwenO, very nice score. With that, you have earned yourself some good points on your app. Go for a LOTS of BOOZE!
- OwenO Said:
Woo hoo! Nice work!

- OwenO Said:
Nice! It looks like it's time to enjoy a frosty medicinal beverage.
Well, rereading this page, I just realized I got 36. Not on the MCAT, but it is my age as of today (I wish it was an MCAT score though!)
Well Happy Birthday!
Hey There, thanks a lot (I didn’t mean to hijack the thread, just dreaming outloud).
Congratulations on the 27 and 34, and the 36 too! Each one of those deserves a frosty medicinal beverage.
congrats. Remember that more often than not, students who retake the MCAT, without making a significant change usually drop their score.
When I took the MCAT for the first time in 10 years, I scored a 22. OF course I was devastated but decided to retake. However, I went through the entire day in my head minute by minute and realized that I had to guess on 60 questions because I never practiced my time management.
With that, I changed how I studied, created a schedule and practiced very often and increased my score from a 22 to a 29 in just 6 months (not heard of).
So think very carefully and make sure that you change study habits or you more than likely will lower your score.
