I’m getting ready to start my post-bacc in the fall (yay!) I didn’t get any financial aid from the school because I already have a BA, which was expected. I got the 12.5K Stafford loans though.
The school’s financial aid site suggests applying for Grad PLUS loans from the government - but the site isn’t very good about breaking out the financial aid info for the post-bacc vs. other programs.
Has anyone gotten a Grad PLUS loan for a post-bacc? It’s a weird situation - it’s not really a BA, not a master’s. In my school, it’s housed under the graduate school.
This whole experience is just frustrating and the staff at the financial aid office appears to be undergrad students working there for work study. It’s not exactly inspiring confidence in what they tell me, which is not consistent anyway.
Feel lucky it’s covered. Many schools don’t cover the postbacc under financial aid leaving students to apply for private loans. I took a GradPLUS for grad school and never did a postbacc, so I’m no help. Sorry.

Find your post-bacc program's page here. That'll tell you if your program is classified as undergraduate-level or graduate-level. Obviously, you need to be matriculated into a graduate degree-granting program to qualify for GradPLUS loans.
Thank you, sound advice. Answer: run through the graduate school, not a graduate program. At least I finally have a straight answer. Thanks!
