I’m registered.
I think I might have mentioned I was going to quit trying to stay on the med school path.
Perhaps… I might have, you know, found the drive again… the buzz… the blind passion with full blinders on.
A very good friend of mine told me a few days ago, after I’d been gnashing my teeth on what to do with my EK books, “Why not use them?”
“Cuz, I’m not taking them MCAT?”
“Hmm… so, you went through so much for so long and came so far and have all that compassion and a measely 3.6 and you’re going to QUIT?!? Really?”
So, my clicky finger got clicking and somehow… I clicked on the April 27th MCAT day, and time was available… and somehow my credit card info got entered and then strangely, my enrollment appeared in my email.
Lord help me!
Heheh… LOVE it. =) Welcome back!
OMGosh, are you having a baby?!?!?!?
OMGosh, OMGosh!!!
(and thank you :))
congrats on the comeback!
LOL Yup… we like to call her our little “deployment surprise.”
My husband left for a contract aviation job in Afghanistan at the beginning of June, and well… he gave me something to remember him while he was gone. Hee hee… Needless to say, we’ve laughed a LOT this summer. We tried for 3 years to have another baby, but to no avail… so we took that hat off, and our youngest was starting kindergarten this year. Thought we were done.
NOPE! The powers that be just had far more entertaining timing…
We are due Feb 25th with our 3rd little girl. Embracing the miracle of this precious gift, trying to keep my sense of humor, and just staying the course! Med school with a newborn! Why not?
Congrats Carrie!! WHOOO HOOO!!!
I knew a family in Minnesota that got pregnant while she was interviewing. Her MS 1 was okay; she loved being in school more than she hated the tiredness of it all.
You are going to be such an amazing inspiration and role models for your girls.
GRATS!!
Wonderful!!! I’m registering this week. I know I will have to close my eyes when I click the button. I told myself the least I could do after taking classes all these years is to take the MCAT.
Back to back blessings. Congratulations to you doc!!!
I know how you feel. I’ll be taking the MCAT a second time this January. I took it 2 years ago and applied to med school in 2011 but didn’t get accepted anywhere. So now I’m coming at this for a second time. I’ts been very difficult to pick myself up and decide to try it again, but my friends and coworkers have been very supportive and that has made a big difference. Good friends have said you have come too far not to try again.
But I know how you feel, hitting that button meant that I’m re-committed (gulp). I’m in a much better place in my life than the first go around, so I’m hopping that will create a better outcome this time. In the mean time I’ll be starting Nursing School as a way getting on with my life and career.
