MCAT Scheduled - Practice Test Questions

Hey, All,

I have the MCATs scheduled for April 1 and am working my way through the AAMC content guide. I have two “old” Kaplan sets of study guides, old as in they are for the previous exam. Both of them have been used to register on the Kaplan site and are expired in terms of having access to the exams. I am also working from MPrep’s Q-Bank, my text books and my old notes. At this point, I am considering purchasing the NextStep’s CARS book, but I am not sure if it’s worth the price.

I purchased access to the AAMC’s practice test bundle (20 takes for $35), however another poster commented that while the AAMC’s exams were good practice, they were easier than the actual exam. Kaplan and PR’s exams were harder. Call me a masochist, but I would like some of my test prep to be tougher than the actual exam. The other poster also commented that the Kaplan MCAT2015 books weren’t all that helpful, the AAMC content guide was more so, in taking the MCAT last year. Has anyone else found them to be helpful?

What I am wondering is if there is a way to purchase access to Kaplan and PR (or any other sites worth looking at) without buying the books? Do they sell access to the exams as well? I’d rather spend the $250 on my tutors. However, if I have to buy the books to gain access to the exams, I will. Reviews on Amazon are back and forth, on both sets of information, quite frankly and I haven’t seen too many post MCAT comments as to their usefulness or lack thereof. I can’t say that I blame them not wanting to look or comment after the carnage is over.

I don’t know the answer to your question, but this might help some in your studies.

Kaplan offers free test(s?) on their website, but they’re scheduled at specific times. http://www.kaptest.com/mcat/enroll?tab=events

Taking them will probably result in massive “sign up for our class” email spam, but you gotta take the good with the bad…

Excellent, thank you! And quite frankly, I would set up an email that Kaplan can spam to their hearts content not to have to drop more money on books that are likely a repeat of what I have already.
