Hello all…just joined!
So am I crazy or what? Been an RN since 1990, plus have done other things too. Can this old dog learn new tricks? I know I have what it takes, family tie-down not an issue, finances covered, but…will I get an open door chance or be laughed out? Anyone?
Hello!
I say go for it! I just joined as well. I am a 40 year old who never even went to college. I thought It was absolutely absurd to decide I should start now. I was encouraged by my husband to dive in and start. I am 2 semesters in and still feeling like I must be insane to think I have a chance to make it to medical school. Talk about non-traditional!! I have always loved medicine. I have always been passionate about helping others reach wellness. Out of high school I wanted to pursue psychology, but I had no support. Sad! Now 22 years later I want to be a doctor. Crazy? I can’t say what the road looks like ahead. What I do know is this, if I don’t at least try, I will never know. Same for you. Try! If you are truly passionate about becoming a doctor then pursue it. Don’t catch yourself looking back in 5 or 10 years asking yourself why or having regrets.
I hope this has helped. If you have any words for me, please share.
