Prejudice and the Caribbean

Here’s another scary reality - being in class with “kids” who are there only for 90 credit hours and think that’s enough to get into med school. They also think a 27 diagnostic MCAT is awesome. Classic example of how someone may want to be a doctor but is probably not going to be one. At least not until they get their act together.

Actually the 90 credit hour people are not the scariest, the “6year program kids” are. All the Caribbean schools have them and the do not even take the MCAT. They come right from Highschool, at 17 and start a 18 month program or a 24 month program then they are 21 or 22 when they graduate Basic Sci into Year 3 of medschool! they are the scariest ones. They have not even earned any kind of college degree in the us at all. If someone at least attended college for 3 years thats better then this by far.
