I ran across the great website at just the right time! I am a Registered Nurse working in a busy Emergency Room alongside numerous DOs. I am 25 years old and ready to go to medical school. I have quite a few prerequisites that I need to take. Any suggestions on where to take prerequisite science courses? There is a local community college that has recently changed into a state college. Would this be sufficient?
Generally, prereqs at a community college can have a moderate negative impact on your chances. However, if your school has now 4 year status as a state college, it probably puts you at middle of the road. Perfectly acceptable. Do well in your classes, don’t take more than you can handle and get good grades, prep for the MCAT with a course. At 25 your a babe in the woods on this site.
