How about: Don’t view applying to medical school as a competition against an unknown quantity. Everyone has their own story for how they got to this point, use yours to show why you deserve to be accepted on your own merit.

Thank you! Really appreciated seeing that piece of advice. I think it’s especially true for non-traditionals, and well said.
