I took the MCAT on 7/2, during the Physical Sciences section, the screen froze and I notified the proctor immediately. After several minutes, the computer restarted itself and I began again, however, the time did not stop when it froze and I lost 13 minutes. I was not able to complete the section and had to guess on 14 questions. I have filed a request for an investigation however I have been told that it could take up to 4 weeks to come to a resolution.
I am applying this cycle (in Texas) and have everything in except for my MCAT score. I don’t know if I should wait for the investigation? Schedule a retake immediately? I only found one open seat 8/15. I am also concerned that the score is going to be embarrassingly low and know some schools average the score. I am most concerned about the timing. Will that be too late for Texas? Talk about some serious anxiety! All that work…oh my. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
What a tough break on test day, but I personally wouldn’t apply without a known MCAT score in play because there’s too much riding on that score.
