The Difficulty's of going into Med school

How Difficult is it to get into med school? i am not that familiar with the procedures especially for someone in my position, i am interested in following a career in the medical field, i wasn’t the best student in school

  1. i dropped out at age 17

  2. my grades were always D’s and C’s.

  3. I am an illegal immigrant in the U.S.A i was brought here at the age of three.

my interest in study’s, books, improvement of self have grown dramatically. i am not the same kid i was in high school i strive for knowledge now, and the medical field has always been an interest to me

now, the question is what are my options and what would be the best way to approach this goal. any reply’s would be helpful and appreciated if you need to know anything else about be ask thank you again

Kudos to you for reaching for this goal. All of us on here come from unique and interesting backgrounds. These experiences are considered The Story; all the things that have happened to us that have accumulated to one point in time.

I especially like your story because it reminds me of myself. Now to answer your question:

Yes it is difficult, very difficult. But then again, is anything that is worth it’s weight in gold easy?

So first find someone who can help you, whom you trust who can help you as far as getting permanent resident status. From my knowledge, one does not have to be a US citizen however they do have to be at least a permanent resident of the United States.

Second, find a University or community college that offeres a GED program either online or inperson. (You’re going to need this)

Third stay at that said university or community college and begin to take college level science, English, math courses for credit.

This is a good start as any and it should keep you busy for the next few years (trust me on this one) After that you should have a pretty good start, and direction of how to best proceed towards your goal.
