If I am not accepted into med school the first time, how will my reapplication be viewed?
Depends on what you have accomplished in the interim.
Artman is right. It really depends on what you have done to improve your application fromthe last time. If it is GPA have you gotten straight A’s in uppper level classes. If it is MCAT have you improved 3 or more points. If it is EC’s have you done more.
It would also not hurt to call the school that would reject you and where you really want to attend to simply ask:
1- Why did you get rejected
2- What can you do to make yourself more competitive
3- What is their ideal candidate
Showing genuine interest and a will to work and improve should be viewed of good eye.
Disclaimer: I am not in Med School - So take this with a grain of salt.
