wow, and congrats. And let’s hear the story! we need it…
Well year 1 draws near. Unfortunately it looks like my alma mater will not be calling me off the wait list. I think when you are a much older candidate your age works well in getting some interviews, but I think it is a detriment once your application gets to committee.
On Thursday I will be leaving for Erie Pa and leaving behind my wonderful wife and our two dogs.
This is tougher than I thought. We have had a good life here and leaving friends and family for this new episode in our lives is very sad.
My wife is hoping for a retirement package in the
fall and so we decided that she would remain in
our home until the end of the first semester. I also have the challenge of gross anatomy. I am not sure if it is better to be without your support system and free of the distractions of home. However I will let you know. Thanks for all the wonderful comments of support.
It sounds a bit like a deployment. I, for one, am happy for you that you are so in love with your wife that you will miss her. That’s a good thing. Good luck in your new adventure, and I hope that the semester passes quickly and that the retirement package comes through as quickly as possible.
That is so awesome. You have no idea how much if an inspiration you are. Thank you so much for sharing that; truly!
Wow! I hope everything works out for you as you embark on your sojourn. As someone who is older, you inspire me as well. Continue on your journey and let us know how you are doing.
