I have a question about non-traditional research. I am currently pursuing a BA in Linguistics and would like to get some research experience. How is non-medical/hard science research viewed by admissions committees? I can only assume not all research is the same and I don’t want to be shooting myself in the foot by not focusing my efforts.
To be clear I am also fascinated with medical research and do plan to be active in that respect but I assume my window for doing Linguistics research is limited while a career in medicine is definitely the pursuit.
