samenewme,
Good advice, will do.
Best,
Hello All,
This time is just a short question:
What is the name of the math courses one needs to satisfy the Math pre-reqs?
Does it vary from School to School?
Anything other than Calculus?
The quid of the question, really, is if one can get by with some pre-algebra / algebra courses.
Thanks in advance,
Generally if the school does not require Calc physics, or specifically state “Calculus” you can get away with algebra AND statistics. Take statistics - really!
Kate
I do essentially concur with Kate. I tested into an intermediate algebra and took College Algebra with Limits along with Statistics. Take Statistics really!
From there though I decided I wanted a Trig to prepare me for Physics. But I was also concerned about needing a Calc, particularly as you see some schools requiring it. Fortunately, my 4 year offers Mathmatics for the Biological Sciences which is an advanced algebra with intro trig, rudimentary calc with a smattering of statistics thrown in.
It’s obviously designed to get pre-med, pre-pharmacy, pre-dental, etc students on their way.
Check around, you may have something similar.
Crepitus
Kate and Crepitus,
Thanks so much for your input.
I suspected that unless required “specifically” one intermediate algebra will do.
A “Math for Bio Sciences” type of course is exactly what I am looking for.
