I went on AMCAS to add two more schools and was not prompted to submit payment info like the first time. When I clicked on the “desginated schools” link, the newly added schools are there. Does anyone know whether this means that they automatically charge you based upon your initial method of payment?
Nope, it will be the last step once your finished selecting new schools to add.
When your adding schools you need to reverify and resubmit your application for them to ask you to pay again. The new schools will show up on the added schools but your application will not be sent to them until you pay.
