I just became a member of the American Medical Student Association and I am so psyched. Basically, I’ll do anything that motivates me on my journey. For those of you who are not familiar with it, they offer perks such as a free copy of the New Physician magazine and 20% discounts on selected hotels. Their website is also full of pre-med/med student information.

I concur that AMSA is worth joining if for no other reason than to inspire you! The magazine is pretty good although very much geared toward the traditional student. It's definitely a good way to get a feel for the broader world of medicine.
