Bad semester as a pre med

I’m a sophomore about to start my fourth semester and am looking for advice on how my GPA trajectory may affect a straight-through medical school application. My first semester GPA was a 3.6. In my second semester, I did really badly and got a 1.57 GPA. The following summer, I took 6 credits and earned As in both courses, and this past semester, I earned a 3.83. Based on GPA projections, even in a best-case scenario (retakes + strong grades moving forward), the highest cumulative GPA I could reach is around a 3.69. I’m concerned this may limit my competitiveness for MD programs. Given this upward trend, what steps would you recommend to strengthen my application and maximize my chances of applying without a gap year?
