Clinical Experience?


I volunteer at my local optometry clinic, where I enter patient’s medical history and exam information into the EHR (electronic health record) system during the eye exam, similar to scribing. I’m in the exam room with the optometrist and the patient during exams, but I also have other roles such as scheduling and greeting patients as they enter. Given the fact that I interact with patients, would this be considered a clinical experience? Thank you!


The guidance I’ve received is that if you are interested in becoming a physician you should shadow a physician. If you are interested in optometry shadow an optometrist. It’s pretty brutal, but what’s not about this process :upside_down_face:
