Curious about first-time applicant matriculants...

My Kaplan instructor said that Med schools “prefer to see second time applicants” and that “it’s extremely difficult to get in the first time around”.

I was just curious, does anybody know what percentage of first time applicant’s matriculate?

That’s confused baloney.

It’s extremely hard to get in, period. If you buff up your credentials and reapply, some admissions people will take it as a sign that you’re serious about medicine. I don’t know. It’s hard to generalize. I would say it’s better to do it right the first time. Don’t apply to schools until you’re ready. It’s an expensive and emotionally draining experience and you don’t want to do it too many times
