Want to know who here has done the 3rd shift while squeezing in a class or two. I know of a few positions available at nearby hospitals doing either the 7p-7a 3-4 days a week or 11p-7a M-F, and was thinking of if I were to get one of these jobs, when I might take my classes. I know it’s more personal preference, but was has worked best for you all? Class as soon as you get off in the morning or take it late afternoon/evening before going into work?
Well, I work 3 nights (7p-7a) Tuedays, Fridays and Saturdays. 12 hours can be tough, and it will probably take you a few months to get in the swing. I finally have a regular schedule which will help me in the fall when I take OChem and Physics. I’m making sure not to do the labs on the same day. I’ll be going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The advantage is that I usually have a few hours during the shift that would allow me to review some of the material covered in class.
