I’m so excited!
I had an interview today in Reston Hospital (only 2 blocks away from where I live - can easily walk there). And I’m going to start volunteering next Friday at Surgical Unit !!!
It’s going to be my first hospital experience - and that’s why I’m so excited about it! I kinda expected that at the beginning they would send me to the front desk or something like that. I didn’t dare to hope to get into surgical unit right away… 
Anyway - I’m having an orientation this coming Saturday, a training on Wednesday, and I’m starting on Friday 29th…

I start my volunteer gig in a few weeks on Nov. 6th. I will be a Spanish interpreter at the ED at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan. I took my interpreter and cultural competency training already and am looking forward to getting in there! I hope to go 4 hours a week on Saturdays.
