This story is almost three years old but it’s still inspiring. Lately I’ve read posts by people who seem discouraged so I thought a little inspiration might be in order. Read the story of Dr. Ruth Lavigne, who graduated from med school at 45, to learn how she reached her goal.
Cheers,
Liza
Such a motivational story! Thanks for sharing.
Very inspiring. I should have done some of the same things she did when I was her age. Oh well.

PS- Path pun intended, LOL!!!
Such a wonderful story, thanks for sharing Kate! I’ve since peeled back all of my negativity toward my ability to “do this” from the other day and am simply moving forward.
I love this story. Reminds of my journey in some ways as I’m sure it does it for many of us OPMs. I love how she says she just did it. I feel that way sometimes, too. The last four years of pursuing premed have been a whirlwind, but I, too, just did what had to be done to get to where I wanted to be. It’s not always easy and it’s not always so simplistic in every day practice but in the end it can seem just so neatly tied up in this package of intent. It’s rather wonderful to look back and see it that way. I find Dr. Lavigne’s story so inspiring and it gives me hope and confidence in what is yet to come for me as I start medical school in August as a 37 y/o mom of a 5.5 year old girl.
