Interesting (to me) info given during interview

I just had my very first interview for med school at Louisiana State University. I am very excited about it and hope that it went well.

I had been worrying about my interview date as it is 3 months after interviews opened.

I thought it was interesting that one of the doctors that led us in orientation told us that we should not worry about the timing of the interview. He said that med schools across the country were having issues with giving most of their spots away a few months after interviews opened. He said this caused the rejection of people who were more qualified than the applicants who were accepted. He said that schools now are trickling their acceptances so that they interview many people and pick the best. Just FYI
