Introduction...

I have been lurking around here for a while so I decided to writ a post…

I am 26 yrs old and have a bachelors degree in a social science.

I work in the administrative side of medicine in a good hospital in my city. I started this job thinking I finally found my calling. I thought Id get my masters in health care management and I will finally get over that nagging feeling that I have been ignoring to become a physician. The thoughts of “I cant do it” slowly changed to “why couldn’t I do it?”

This job has just made my aspirations to become an MD hard to ignore. I stay up all night. I research all day. I drool and stare at the residents and physicians during lunch when they have their white coats on and they discuss a patients case.

I am going through a divorce from an MD (he has nothing to do with this dream I have had since before I started university) at the same hospital so I know how hard it is to be a resident. But I put my dreams on hold so I can make it easier for him to cope and now I feel is the perfect time to go after them.

I start my prereqs this summer. Wish me luck and share your story!

Go for it and keep us posted.

Wishing you all the best and yes, you CAN do it!!!

Blessings,

Kitty
