You might think I’m crazy but I got a job here in Miami, through the same home health agency I worked for before starting medical school. The purpose was to get in a few shifts just to make my work experience current (since I didn’t work while in the UK for two years), AND so that I could transfer my file to the office in Chicago when I relocate there in September in preparation for starting clinicals. I won’t work, of course, while in clinical rotations, but WILL work some while studying for Step 1. The company I work for does only pediatric home health, so I’ve worked 11p-7a the last three nights (over the weekend after a “case study” week where I had no clinical assignments), not a really acute patient, just nighttime respite for the parents basically. Still this weekend paid for the cost of my ticket home next weekend!
