Low GPA as an undergrad student

Hi everyone,

I’m a sophomore biology student aiming to get into med school. I’ve struggled quite a bit with my Chemistry 1 & 2 courses, which caused my GPA to drop significantly.

My current cumulative GPA is 3.2. While I excel in my other classes, I’m concerned that my performance in chemistry may impact my chances of getting into medical school.

To boost my GPA, I’m considering pursuing a minor. Additionally, I’m actively involved in community service at a hospital and have plans to shadow a doctor during the winter break and summer of 2025.

What else can I do to improve my chances of getting into med school?

Hi,
I just finished my sophomore year of pre-med too. For me, I have taken some extra courses this summer which helped boost my GPA, and I also am doing research for credit which can give you an easy A.

Hope this helps!
