Low GPA, Teaching during gap year

I graduated from college with a 3.2 GPA and will be taking the MCAT soon, but instead of doing post-bacc, I wanted to teach during my gap years because it has always been a passion of mine. I’m currently teaching high school as a Teach for America corps member. Do I still have a chance of getting into med school if I apply this cycle? Or does a post-bacc still seem like the best option?

you should do a post-bacc

If don’t have any research or clinical experience even with a high MCAT score they are likely to not accept you. Experience is needed and a specialized masters program might be a good choice.

I have over 300 hours of clinical experience as a patient caretaker at a hospital and research experience from college.

If you have taken all the pre reqs and do well on the MCAT by all means apply then. Make sure to have good rec letters and strengthen your application as much as you can before you apply.
