MSU osteopathic program

I am a non traditional student finishing my masters degree soon. I live right in the middle of both MSU medical school campuses. I was planning to apply to MSUCOM, and its at the top of my list of schools I would like to attend if accepted (mostly because of it being local, and osteopathic). With the Larry Nassar, and now William Strampel incident, having their names attached to the school, should there be a concern about attending the medical school, and being associated with them? The thing that adds more potential concern is that I am finishing my masters degree in exercise physiology, and I am super interested in sports medicine. I always thought it would be cool to work with olympic teams. I feel like MSU and sports medicine will probably have a stigma attached to it for a while.
