New and a little about me and a few questions

I’m new to the forum and been looking around reading some posts. I’m 48 married with a 6 year old. Yep I had her a little late. It took us 10 years but of course she is worth all the heartache.

I want to go back to school and get my bachelors degree and possibly either go to medical school or graduate school. I started college 30 years ago, right out of high school which was a huge mistake. I didn’t do well but I think my GPA may be 2.0 from that. Since then I have taken a few classes at the local community college and a local university. I am not 100% sure if medical school is for me. So my first question is it possible to shadow for a few days and get a good feel for what medicine truly is? There is a medical school here where I live and I just found out the lady I use to work for as her nanny is one of the big wigs. I actually did shadow her once or twice but that was quite a few years ago. I keep putting it off and things always get in the way. Should I volunteer even if I am not sure what I want? The graduate program I am most interested in is Anesthesia Assistant. But I would have to move for sure because as of right now it is only offered at 5 schools and you can get licensed in only 18 states which Oregon is not one. At this point I am tired of living in this rain soaked place!

The AA program is about 2 years long and has all the same prerequisites as medical school admissions, plus most school want you to take the MCAT (or GRE)

If htere are an anesthesia MD’s I would love to know if you have worked with AA and what is the scope of their involvement

thanks
