I’m newly registered here after finding the site a few weeks ago and wanted to post an intro.
I decided in May I wanted to go back to school, at the age of 42, almost 43, and become a Naturopathic Doctor. I have researched and studied alternative medicine for nearly 20 years now. I’m not sure why it took me so long to choose it as a career path. So I registered for classes this fall since summer classes had already started. I have a BS in counseling (3.7 gpa), so I am taking my pre-med pre-requisites. I’m taking Biology, Physics, General Chem, and Organic Chem. I’m doing honors projects for at least 3 of the classes. Since I’m doing well (A’s and B’s), and with the encouragement of my chiropractor, I am now considering a DO or possibly even a MD degree. However, doing so will push med school out a year because of the MCAT’s.
