Since OPM occasionally gets inquires about veterinary medicine and there appears to be no other venue catering to nontraditional veterinary students, I am posting some recently forwarded info on a week long mini medical school at the Tufts College of Veterinary Medicine designed specifically for nontraditional students.

My name is Linette Scibelli and I am the Director of Special Programs at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.
We have an exciting program designed specifically for the non-traditional student, who might be interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. Our one week Adult Adventures in Veterinary Medicine session is from May 7-11, 2012, located on the Tufts University veterinary campus in North Grafton, Massachusetts.
Our Adult session is designed for non-traditional students who may be attending college for the first time or for adults who are considering a career change. If you have members who are excited by science, enjoy working with animals, and would like to find out more about what it takes to be a veterinarian, then this program is right for them. At AVM they will get a clear picture of the demands of veterinary school and knowledge of the varied career opportunities within the profession. By spending time on the campus of one of the finest veterinary schools in the country, students will get a realistic and comprehensive look at what attending veterinary school would be like. AVM is a thorough introduction for those with an interest in pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. During the program students will attend lectures by our faculty and veterinary students, participate in laboratories, and engage in hand-on activities with animals. Our session also includes a veterinary admissions and financial aid talk.
We invite adult, non-traditional students to come to Adventures in Veterinary Medicine and discover if this exciting career is right for them! I was not sure if your organization included students interested in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. If so, we appreciate if you would please share this information and our attached brochure with your members and affiliated institutions/organization s.
For more information on the program, requirements, tuition, and the application, please visit our web site at www.tufts.edu/vet/avm or contact us at AVM@tufts.edu. If you would like us to mail your organization some brochures, we will be happy to do so. I will be happy to speak with you if you have specific questions or would like to know more about our program.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
