on the fence

so for about the past year or so i’ve been on the fence on whether or not to go after med school. i started off with a bachelors in athletic training mainly because i wanted to stay close to athletics and also be involved with health care. however, right after i finished my degree i decided that part of health care was not my scene as i enjoyed the work just not the travel, compensation, and overall lack of respect for the profession. since then i went back to school and completed a masters in health administration. since finishing my program back in may '09 i have been searching for a job where i would use my degree but its becoming frustrating as nothing has panned out.

lately i’ve been starting to think it is somewhat of a sign to go towards med school. a lot of friends have actually told me in the past that i would be able to do it and be good at it, the only thing is that i have never really taken a legitimate pre-req course (chem, bio, phy, etc). so, i am 28, single, no kids, no pre-reqs, already a healthy amount of student loans, and complete indecision on whether i should start the process or not. sometimes i feel like i’m turning into that person who never gets things on track but i’ve been thinking about this for quite some time where i just kind of ran into the masters program just for a way out.

i know i would get much more fulfillment out of the service side of health care rather than the administrative side. i plan on meeting with a doc i work with to get some answers and guidance from to help with my indecision. also, i’ve heard about these intensive pre-req programs that allow you knock 'em out in a year and a half and also help prep you for the mcat. anyone have any info on those or where i could find a list of places that offer that sort of program? anyways, i appreciate any input - positive or negative.
