I have been certified as an EMT Basic since high school and after finishing undergrad in 2020 I need to improve my GPA before applying to med school. I have been working on an ambulance while applying to post bacc programs however my boss is now offering to send me to paramedic school. The medic program is 45 credits at a community college so I guess my question is if I am able to take them for a letter grade how would they factor into my undergraduate GPA? I realize that the majority of these credits will fall under the “all other” umbrella and are not BCPM but will that matter in the long run as far as MD/DO schools are concerned? Will I still need to retake some of the prereqs I did poorly in?
