I just received a letter from the Dean of the school who had appointment me to the Hearing Body, responsible for hearing complaints and handling disciplinary infractions.
I am stunned…

This is an appointment TO a committee not to come in front of the committee. I will be on the committee as a member. It is something positive for my CV.
Didn’t think you were in trouble 
Maybe you should attend meetings in black judicial robes and wear a white wig like in a traditional british court room. Just don’t get too carried away and start saying in a full english “I sentence to hang from your neck until dead!”
