When to take MCAT

I will be finished by bachelors degrees in 2009 and want to start med school that same year, hopefully. Do I take the MCAT in 2007 or 2008? Or should I take a year off and start in 2010? Any advice?

You will have to take the MCAT in 2008. In order to start medical school in fall of 2009, you will start the application process in summer of 2008. In order for your application to be considered, you must have MCAT scores. You can start submitting applications on June 1st. I would recommend you take your MCAT no later than July, if possible. You can take it later than that, but your application will not be complete until your MCAT scores are in. Since most medical schools do “rolling admissions”, you want to get your application in as early in the cycle as you can.

Hope that helps.

It does. Thanks!
