I picked DMU over KCOM…Still have an interview at the University of Iowa to go, but am 99% sure I’ll be at DMU in August.
I was accepted to PCOM on Nov. 19th. Yes, all the hard work has finally paid off.

Just updating. Got into a school where I was asked, during my interview, “what things did your parents do wrong?” At first I said something generic about how they set me up with some rather boring expectations but nothing more. Then as the interview went on, I thought of more things, and more things, which I continued blurting out until I was sure I had doomed myself. Oh well, it was in California–that’s the land of talk therapy, right?

That’s hilarious. At my last interview they asked me what my biggest fault was… I said that I was a perfectionist… they said… what’s wrong with that?
inevitably I say something that I regret in one way or another… so far it hasn’t been that big of a deal… and apparently, honesty is key - even if it doesn’t seem right…

At one of my interviews I answered “I have no imagination” to the old biggest weakness question.
The interviewer, a family practioner, said “Oh, but you want to go into surgery. You don’t need any imagination for that”
I’ve been out for awhile and didn’t see this great list. Congrats to everyone.

Congratulations on the acceptance! None here yet, but I still have an interview blunder to air. One of my interviewers was obsessing over my having children and how hard that would make medical school. He finally got off of that and asked me what I like to do in my spare time, and like and idiot I blurt out, “Play with my kids!” I play guitar and piano, sing, practice martial arts, am on the church dance team, and I love to scrapbook, and I say, “Play with my kids.”
