Gannon-LECOM 3-4 program for non traditional students

Hi Guys,

So, I have introduced myself before and in the middle of trying to figure out the best way to begin this journey in the fall! I have a BA in Acting from from a university in London and have been a struggling actor…returning to my original dream of medicine.

Anyways, I got admitted into this Gannon university pre med program which will transfer 1 yr of my credits and in 3 years if I complete all the courses and do well enough I will be guaranteed an interview with LECOM, the man on the phone said it was guaranteed acceptance but it doesn’t really sound like it…I have a phone interview with the health advisor tomorrow.

here is the link to the program:

has anyone heard of it? Any opinions?

My other two options are to complete in an entire new 4 year biology degree at nearby small liberal arts college that I have been admitted too and then apply…this would give me some sort of back up if I am not accepted…or I could risk taking the required courses and applying with my foreign degree (which was strange and everything was based on written evaluations, no grades, mainly performance classes)

Any advise would be great! thanks!

You will have some sort of backup. If you complete 3 years of courses in this program, you should have the 90 credits of US -courses that most other med schools require of degree-holders from other countries.

AACOMAS does have a mechanism for verifying your foreign credits but you run the risk of ending up with a derived GPA that is not favorable.
