I will be finishing up my B.S in Human Services from Bluefield College very shortly, I taken all my electives in math and science courses. Human Services degree focus alot on pys courses which I kind of enjoy. I have found that University of Wisconsin offers a online PA program which is three years to compete, I found out that Harvard offers a premedical diploma online I was wondering should I go to Harvard for the premedical andif that would cut the time off of PA school at UW. I really want go into surgial asst program just can not find any schools that offer the didatric online. I know alot folks knock online schools but trust Bluefield College does have very strong programs for there online degrees they are taught the same way as if you where setting in the class room. Can someone please help me to follow in the right direction. You can find me on Facebook Houston Donald. I really want this super bad. So I really don’t know what route to take PA school or SA school I know that Eastern Virgina Medical offers great program for SA’s with no medical training to get into there program so can someone please help me?

Surgical assisting is very hands-on so I’d say you should look at relocating and attending a bricks-and-mortar school if that is what you have your heart set on. Unlikely to find a breakout of some didactic online.

The premed diploma from Harvard sounds unhelpful. In general “premed” is not a major. Can’t see that it would help towards PA school. Check out the requirements of the schools you are interested in and figure what additional science classes you need, then try to get those at nearby colleges. Generally PA programs require a bachelor’s degree, not specifically in anything in particular, and a set of classes - often the same as premed prereqs.

Best of luck!
